Ottawa’s Real Estate Marketplace ~ February 2015 Edition

During the month of January 2015, members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 627 residential properties,  compared to 587 in January of last year,  an increase of 6.8% in total number of properties sold. 
It took an average of 119 days for a property to sell last month which is 13 days longer than the average was in December. 
Of these 627 sales,513 were houses, and 114 were condominiums. 
January’s average home price for all properties sold was $348,617, up 0.5% from last year.
The average sales price for a freehold home sold last month, was $370,442,  up 0.5% % from January 2014.
Condominium average prices dropped 5.8% compared to last year, to $250,406. 
2,018 new properties were listed for sale in January, bringing the total number of properties for sale to 5,754, an increase of 8% over this time last year.
