2662 Tatlock Road | Charming Log House in Old Almonte

Rural Living at its Finest

Do you find yourself wishing that you could get away from the hustle and bustle of city life after your 9-5, but the daily commute gives you the jitters?  But then this unforgettable and serene log home comes along and you suddenly forget all about the commute! With Clayton Village only a 10 minute walk, or 3 minute drive up the road you have all of your necessities close by – but a quick 35 minute drive will find you at the Tanger Outlets in Kanata creating a daily commute that’s worth the peace and tranquility that you revel in each evening.

This handsome log home sits on approximately 3 acres of land, was built in the 1800’s, and has been impeccably maintained. Recent upgrades include a new chimney, double walled interior piping, and  new kitchen appliances and finishings.

The front door leads you into a cozy entry with a newly renovated sunny kitchen and breakfast nook to the right, and an intimate living space to the left. Straight ahead leads you up the staircase to the second floor. If you continue through the kitchen you will find an additional family room that has been affixed on to the back of the home. There is access from this room to the expansive yard space through a patio door. All three bedrooms are upstairs, and there is a cheater bathroom off of the Master bedroom that can also be accessed through the main hallway.

For those days that you can’t find what you need at the Clayton General Store, but don’t want to drive into the city either – the towns of Almonte and Carleton Place are each only about a 15 minute drive away.

In the springtime there’s no shortage of maple syrup around, there are even sap collection buckets set up right on your property! A short 5 minute drive away is the Fortune Farms Maple Sugar Bush where you can enjoy an educational trail walk around the bush, and sample taffy, syrup, fudge and candy before deciding which goodies you want to take home with you. A 10 minute drive finds you at Thompsontown Maple Products for a similar experience in the spring, and camping at Thompson Black Rock Park in the summer months.

If maple syrup isn’t your preference, be sure to make your way over to the Clayton Community Centre for a “Ham & Jam” Country Dance on the first Sunday of every month!
